Overview

EVENT

The 2006 RACEBOARD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - will be held from 18th November to 25th November 2006, in Pattaya, Thailand.

ORGANISER

The Championships will be organised by the Eastern Windsurfing Club together with the Windsurfing Association of Thailand as the Local Organising Authority (LOA) for and on behalf of and under specified conditions laid down by, the International Raceboard Class (IRC), the IWA and the ISAF.

VENUE

The Northpoint on Wong-Amat beach, Pattaya is the venue for the event : http://www.raimonland.com (Supported the land by Boon Property Co.,Ltd.)

Pattaya is located 40 minutes from the new Airport of Thailand and is an established windsurfing area.
During the Championships the winds are expected to be between 12 - 22 knots.
The water temperature is expected to be 25c, and the air temperature is expected to be 23-30c.

LIABILITY

Competitors take part in all races at their own risk. The LOA, IRC or any of their officials or representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives are not responsible, under any circumstances, for any damage, loss or injury either ashore or on the water either to persons or equipment, which may result. Participation in this event, supporting events and in each race in them is at the sole discretion of the sailor and at his/her own risk. Notice is drawn to RRS 4.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS (SI)/EVENT PROGRAMME

The 'Championship SIs' will be available at registration, as will the Event Programme scheduling social events.

MEDALS AND PRIZES

1. Medals or trophies may be awarded up to the first five competitors in the Championship, depending on entry numbers. 2. The first man & woman in the RWC shall be known as the Raceboard World Champion.

DRUGTESTING

Competitors are reminded of the ISAF rules and regulations concerning the use of banned methods and substances. Drug testing may take place during the event.

TELEVISION AND MEDIA

In registering for the event, competitors automatically grant to the Organising Authority the right in perpetuity to make, use and show from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproduction of them, taken during the period of the event, for the said Championship as defined in the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions in which he/she participates without compensation.

BIBS/VESTS & COMPETITORS SAIL BRANDING

During racing, competitors may be required by the organisers to wear bibs/vests carrying the event sponsors' branding; and carry the event sponsor's advertising on their sails. The maximum size of the event-advertising sticker is 600mmX1000mm. The stickers may not be cut or trimmed in any way.

DRESS CODE

1. Smart casual clothes shall be worn for the Opening Ceremony and Prize Giving Ceremony.
2. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone whose standard of attire is not commensurate with the occasion.
